UX Process

The Project
Picky is a mobile application of food delivery type, that allows you to shop online without leaving your home. As the sole UX Designer, I am designing the project from inception to final design through research, ideation, design principles, and Gestalt principles. Picky application is still in progress.

Project Goal
Create a mobile application that will not be difficult to use and will also allow seniors to use it. In the future, expand it to the browser version.

Project Hypoteses
• People these days do not have time to go shopping.
• Older people who are unable to leave home can order the necessary products from the store or pharmacy.
• People during a pandemic want to avoid contact with other people while shopping.

I am the only designer in a team, I work with senior full stack developer and backend developer.

Anna Kowalska

Profession: Manager
Age: 38
Location: Suburbs of Warsaw, Poland
Family: Husband, two children
Motivation
• strives to spend time with her family,
• work harder to get a promotion at work,
• developing new passions,
• make more time for physical activity.
"In-store shopping has never been my passion so I'm glad to be able to shop online."
Bio
Anna is a mother of two boys aged 4 and 9. For 5 years she has been working in a transport company in which she acts as a logistics manager. After hours, she likes to spend time actively, loves to play with children, and invent engaging games for them in the fresh air. Shopping is a nightmare for her, she doesn't like crowded stores. In addition, she never makes a shopping list and thus buys unnecessary products.
Characteristics
busy, sociable, ambitious, active, overworked, organised, modern, talkative, dutiful, painstaking, charismatic, articulate
Frustrations
• hates queues,
• buys unnecessary products in the store,
• lives far from the city,
• has no time for family,
• does not like looking for parking spaces.
Jolanta Nowak

Profession: former nurse, currently retired
Age: 70
Location: Gdańsk, Poland
Family: Daughter, grandchildren, cat
Motivation
• avoiding traffic noise,
• spending time with loved ones,
• caring for grandchildren,
• watching series,
• not differ from the technological level of the granchildren.
"At my age I have no desire or strength to carry my shopping."
Bio
Jolanta is a modern grandmother, she loves to spend time with loved ones, she does not like street life or noise. She is a calm, quiet grandmother who likes to watch series on Netflix. She loves to spend evenings in the garden with a good book or series. The grandchildren help grandma to be up to date with the current trends and gadgets, which is why online shopping is for her. Jolanta lives in a big city and does not have a car, so it is difficult for her to shop traditionally.

Frustrations

Michał Abramik

Profession: computer science student
Age: 24
Location: Kraków, Poland
Family: Parents, sister, dog
Motivation
• self-development,
• not spending time with strangers,
• avoiding traffic noise,
• making more time for study,
• avoiding people.
"I hate crowds, loud people and pickles."
Bio
Michał is a diligent student, has had one best friend since elementary school, and doesn't like to make new friends. Michał doesn't like crowds, he feels best in his own company. He spends his evenings watching TV series, playing games, or studying. He doesn't like to leave home because of the polluted air and crowds of people on the streets.
Characteristics
asocial, grim, busy, ordinary, clear-headed, confident, focused, intelligent, observant, solid, shrewd, introverted
Frustrations
• does not like wearing masks,
• does not like packing his purchases into bags,
• has not time for shopping,
• does not like to leave the home because of the polluted air,
• does not like standing in queues
• does not like lugging around shopping.
